Service Fees

Consultation

A pre-paid telemedicine (virtual) consultation is required by regulation before an in-home visit can occur.  This is to establish the Veterinary – Client – Patient relationship and allows us to get to know you and your pet’s needs better.  The consultation is ~ 20 – 30 minutes long and will occur before a home visit can be scheduled. The cost for this consultation is $105.00 (plus HST) and is non-refundable.

Click Here to fill in a New Patient Form and pre-pay for a Telemedicine (Virtual) Consultation with Dr. Speizer to start the In-Home Euthanasia process.

You will be asked to complete and sign a Euthanasia Consent Form and Pre-pay for services before the In-Home Visit.

Options available for pet in-home euthanasia are:
A. Euthanasia without cremation (i.e. home burial), B. Euthanasia with private cremation (ashes returned to you), C. Euthanasia with communal cremation (ashes not returned)

Please review the fees for the available service options below prior to the virtual consultation.

A. In – Home Euthanasia ONLY (no cremation)

Includes initial telemedicine consultation with Dr. Speizer, home visit, sedation, euthanasia, and a Euthabag for burial. The client will be responsible for the aftercare / cremation of their pet’s body. The included Euthabag is a dignified method for home burial. The family may personalize their pet’s bag using permanent markers or paint as a soothing ritual before saying their final goodbye. For children, it can facilitate acceptance of the animal’s departure and initiate the mourning process. They can also write a letter to their pet and put it in the bag or place their pet’s favorite toy to accompany them across the rainbow bridge. Permanent markers & paint work wonderfully on the fabric.

Home Burial Guidelines in New Brunswick

If you are planning to bury your pet:

Proper home burial of your deceased pet should follow the regulations of your municipality on this matter. If none are available, the following guidelines are provided by the New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association:

  • The remains should be buried outside of flood zones, 75 metres from a watercourse or water body. It should also be at least 150 metres from any drinking water intake, surface or ground. The term ‘watercourse or water body’ includes ponds, marshes, and swamps but excludes any intermittent stream.
  • The remains should be buried deep enough that other animals cannot easily dig them up.
  • It is recommended that a record be kept of the quantities of remains buried and their location.
